Teeth whitening is an effective way of lightening the natural colour of teeth. It helps to remove stains and discoloration. Tooth whitening can be done in the dentist’s office or at home. Whitening toothpastes are available as well. They contain abrasives that remove stains on the enamel.

Aging makes teeth less bright as the enamel gets thinner and the dentin becomes darker. It is also possible to have stains inside the tooth. These are called intrinsic stains. For example, intrinsic stains can be caused by exposure to too much fluoride as a child while teeth are developing.

Modern teeth whitening techniques allow to keep your smile pearly up to 3 years long.
